If you play the piano, you will know that periodic tuning of this wonderful instrument is an essential exercise. Tuning maintains the sound and vibrancy of your piano by adjusting the tension of the 250 or more strings. The strings are tuned to the correct pitch or frequency and the notes you then play, in any octave or chord, will sound harmonious. Without regular tuning, your piano will not only sound off-key, its overall condition will gradually deteriorate, simply because the wood and metal components will not be working in synergy.
At The Pianoman’s Music Shop Technical Centre, Andy Png works with clients to tune and “voice” their pianos. His 25 years of experience and a genuine passion for his craft make him a highly sought after and precise technician. His rigorous training at The Yamaha Piano Academy in Japan has provided him with superior knowledge and a deep understanding of pianos, their workings and the principles of maintenance. Andy tunes the pianos of professional musicians, music schools, piano teachers and churches, and he believes that, by building great client rapport, he can work with musicians to achieve optimum results for them and from their pianos.
